System extension / Options for MAHLER brazing and annealing furnaces
MAHLER conveyor belt furnaces for brazing and annealing can be equipped with different additional devices. This enables our customers to customize their furnace exactly to their needs. By choosing all possible options it is possible for instance to braze, harden and temper spiral drills within one furnace run. Acting this way is not only very economic from the point of energy demand and production cost it also saves a lot of production space due to no additional hardening or tempering equipment is necessary. Our WIZCON process visualisation enables the customer to set default temperatures, belt speed and protective gas parameters by stored receipts and to monitor and store all important parameters.
In an efficient gas quench system the brazed or annealed parts are rapidly cooled down and thus hardened. Due to an optimised design of the gas flow, all parts are uniformly cooled by the cold gas over the whole width of the belt. Generously designed blowers and heat exchangers allow high cooling rates with sufficient capacity.
Characteristics and advantages
- Protective gas circulated by gas tight blower
- Highest cooling rates
- Good accessibility to the heat exchangers
- Uniform hardening results over the whole width of the belt
Tempering can be done in a separate furnace or in a downstream module. By choosing the module the customer saves production space and investment costs because the module doesn’t need additional loading and unloading table, belt drive, and so on.
Characteristics and advantages
- Working temperatures up to 650 °C
- Electrically or gas heated
- Operated with protective gas or air
- With or without muffle
- With or without recirculation
- Cooling possible (to be used as cooling zone)
The convective cooling zone essentially reduces the cooling time of the parts. Thus the whole cooling zone is shorter, and, subsequently, the overall length of the furnace itself.
The automatic gas flow control regulates the distribution of the protective gas inside the furnace and protects the parts and the furnace from outside air. There is no need to set or adjust the gas flow manually. A gas flow control is especially useful and recommendable with a gas quench system with its accompanying gas turbulences.
Characteristics and advantages
- Convective cooling by circulating the protective gas
- Shorter cooling times shorten the furnace length
- Good accessibility to the heat exchangers
- Increased process stability due to stable gas flow
- Compensation of turbulences resulting from gas quenching
As an option we offer the furnaces with a visualisation system. As hardware, a PC with Windows operating system and a visualisation program compatible with Windows. This system mainly monitors and records continuously the most important process parameters. Since this system only supplements the hardware of the standard control system, it is possible to operate the furnace even when the furnace fails.
Characteristics and advantages
- Display, setting and storage of operation parameters
- Administration of recipes
- Alarm diagnosis with possible cause of malfunction
- Timer function
- Furnace book
- Modem/network connection: remote diagnosis to check and clear malfunctions
- Maintenance list with memory function
