MTH, global leader in heat treatment furnaces
After the BODYCOTE group bought the HIT group and decided to refocus the business on heat treatment, the 3 furnace manufacturers then belonging to BODYCOTE left the group and decided to merge and form the Metall Technologie Holding (MTH) in November 1999.
The MTH group originally consisted of Fours Industriels BMI (France), MAHLER (Germany) and SCHMETZ (Germany). As part of its external growth policy, the managers of the MTH group, supported by the financial investors, have set up the present organisation with the following objective: make the MTH group the undisputed leader in heat treatment industrial furnaces, all technologies considered.
It is in this process that IVA (Germany) joined the group in 2005. IVA thus brought in its know-how and expertise in designing the atmospheric furnaces and completed the range of furnaces of the group that already had the BMI and SCHMETZ vacuum furnaces and the MAHLER continuous furnaces.
At the end of 2008, two new companies also joined the MTH group – HUISEN based in Shanghai in China, specialist in designing and manufacturing of continuous furnaces with controlled atmosphere and in batch treatment, as well as RIVA, the Polish entity of IVA.
